Veronica Mars Returns Tuesday!

Veronica's back next week!

New episodes of Veronica Mars are back starting next Tuesday at 9/8c, and we can't wait! The show is making the move from long mystery arcs (like the head-shaving rapist or who killed Dean O'Dell) to stand-alone, one-shot mysteries. It's a change for Veronica, and we're looking forward to seeing how the transition works. The buzz on these upcoming eps is universally positive.

Take this comment from TV Guide's Michael Ausiello: "I've seen the next two episodes, and I'm ready to declare the new self-contained mystery experiment a resounding success."

And E!Online's Kristen says "I just watched the first episode back and it is soooooo freaking good! Feels a bit more like first season and there is something that happens towards the end of the ep that will break your heart -- and then make it leap out of your chest!" Sounds great!

Ausiello says that we should think that even though we're not seeing mystery arcs anymore, it's not like each episode exists in a vacuum. Apparently, we can expect to see Veronica's love life develop and change โ€“ "Major developments abound, and, strangely, most of them seem to occur in or around elevators." Interesting.

Both Ausiello and Kristen have some clues on just what direction Veronica's heart may be going, but we'll let you search out that information yourself โ€“ we don't want to taint those who'd rather remain unspoiled!

Now, what's the news on Veronica's prospects for renewal? Rumors are flying thick and fast but, alas, nothing is set. Here's one take:

Enrico Colantoni told the Toronto Star that Veronica's jump to the future looks unlikely, but the show is still hanging in there. "Rob (creator/producer Thomas) and a couple of the other executives said, `Let's make a little showcase pilot of what Veronica could be like in four years.' They thought Dawn might latch on to the idea of Veronica as an FBI agent in a kind of sexy workplace environment, รก la Grey's Anatomy, that kind of thing. We shot 10 pages and they saw it and the reaction was, `That's not our show.' Then they saw the last episode of this season, and it was so on the money ... it was like the first two years. And I think the network was very excited about that."

But Rob Thomas has a different view: he agrees that the network loved the season finale, but the rest? Not so much. "I have no earthly idea what Enrico is talking about," Thomas told TV Guide. "The network doesn't see it or hear our pitches for VM College or VM FBI until May 2." Hmmm.

Are you looking forward to new Veronica Mars episodes? Do the stand-alone episodes sound interesting, or are you more a fan of the mystery arcs? What do you want to see happen with Veronica's love life โ€“ or are you over that whole aspect of the show? Do you hope Enrico's version of Veronica's future is accurate, or are you still open to Veronica Mars, FBI? Tell us what you think!

When will KTLA air the VM episode that should have aired on May 8? They decided to have non-stop fire coverage, instead. They have no information on their site. Incompetence, it's pervasive.

I love this show! I first found out it switched to the CW around the Papas cabin episode. I hope they renew; you can't tell from one season (on a new channel) will do. Plus, I think it would do better at a 7:00.

It's so heartbreaking to see Piz and Veronica together and that Logan might not have another chance with Veronica. This sucks big time. I'm still a fan of LoVe all the waaaaayyyyyy!!!

Cannot wait until tonight's ep and the rest of the season. Of course I cannot wait to see what's next for Veronica's lovelife and for Logan!!

I think the FBI thing is so overdone...Veronica brand of justice might work out there tho, with nothing and no one being what they may seem at first!

love the show - more please!!!!!!!

I want Wallace, I want Weevil I'm sick of all the romance angle over powering the mystery and Veronica Snarkness.... I actually would love some normalacy even if it's back to Season One where it's V against the world with her counterparts and that can include anyone she wants. I love LoVe but this is a NeoNoir and I need me some mystery and dialogue not angst and melodrama I'll tune into soaps if that's what I want. Stop RT from butchering VM and let's get back to the depression and dark-snark that was Season One.

Im so psyched for the return of V.Mars finally we get to see Wallace again and everyone else whos tappered to the background of the series...but for all the VERONICA MARS fans out there well party really hard tomorrow night @9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Veronica Mars is the best show ever. I absolutely love it and hope that it will last past this season. Tell everyone you know to watch it...they will get hooked on it!

cant waiiiittt <3 ahh this show is true genius

I absolutrly love the show. Would love to see how veronica's love life develop even though I'm still crushed she broke up with Logan. They were perfect together; sarcastic and witty

I want to see Veronica's love-life dropped as an element of the story altogether. It hasn't actually been interesting since season one, and this season it's been dragging the show down tremendously. As for the remaining episodes of this season, I have to say that, even though I shall watch them, I'm not particularly enthusiastic about them. Why should I be, given how lackluster this season has been heretofore? I hope they can recapture the magic of the first season, but I'm not holding my breath.

can't wait for it to come back. it's been way too long.

Can't wait!
