Privileged: All About Confessions

Sure, Charlie's smiling here, but he wasn't looking so perky last night!
Goodbye Charlie, hello can of worms! Michael Cassidy makes one heck of an exit as his character leaves a path of destruction on his way out of Privileged. Yes, ladies, the former O.C. star has left the building. Charlie leaves Florida for the also sunny beaches of San Diego to study marine biology. What’s interesting is not his leaving but the drama it brings.

It all starts when Charlie meets with Lily for a hair cut. Megan and Mandy already know Charlie is off to Cali. Charlie offers Lily some very good advice and suggests she take the lead on making sure her and Megan’s dad pulls through Shelby ditching him. This turns out to be great and it kind of takes Megan aback when Lily says she’ll take care of it. She actually seemed grateful. Now if only Lily’s advice to Charlie was just as good.

She convinces him that there is no way he can start a new life unless he confesses his love for Megan to her. Ugh! It’s so obvious that Megan does not like him that way and at this point we all know his feelings are going to get hurt. But Lily hits the nail on the head when she tells him it’s not so much moving on as it is running away from his feelings.

Megan only encourages the situation (not that she realizes anything is going on) with her spontaneous day of good-bye. Liquor, laughter and a night – alone – on a moonlit beach lead to a kiss and drunken love confession. Hold your squeeage, Charlie/Megan 'shippers. As most of us sane people already realized, she does not return his affection. Things are awkward between the supposed BFFs upuntil the Charlie/Will fight.

Oh, did we not mention the fight? Evidently in Megan’s world, whenyou love two men but one as just a friend, the friend can do no wrong. A game of beer pong goes dangerously downhill when Will beats Charlie. From what we saw, the fight totally starts because of Charlie’s remarks about how Will always wins at things (a.k.a. Beer Pong and Megan). Granted, Will eggs him on, but Charlie throws the first punch. Somehow, though, Megan blames Will for the entire thing.

The obvious right thing to do is throw the game of beer pong when you are up against your girlfriend’s best friend who is secretly in love with her. Although at this point in the evening it really isn’t a secret anymore because Will announced it to everyone at the party during the fight. And now we have to ask, “What the heck is up with Megan?”

Any sane person can see That Will isn't the only one to blame for this. But Megan is so mean to Will about the fight, but she doesn’t even bother to say one single word to Charlie about it. She can break his heart but apparently not give him an earful for starting with her boyfriend. Either way, this definitely spells trouble for Will and Megan. Will the relationship last? Is Megan even capable of seeing how ignorant she is being? From the looks of next week’s previews, probably not.

Fortunately, there are some relationships that seem to be in better shape. While Megan is working to rip her relationship to shreds, Sage and Rose are moving on – very maturely – with theirs. They make a sexfesion pact to confess their bedroom resumes to their boyfriends. For those not keeping scorecards, Sage is still a virgin, Rose – not so much.

But with confessions come surprises. Luis turns out to be very religious and not willing to partake in doing the deed until wed. One would expect that Sage would be happy about learning this, but Luis’s religious side reminds Sage that she has not been to church since her parents’ funeral. This opens a serious case of the blues when she starts to reminisce about the past to Luis.

It seems like Sage has made peace with starting to get back into church when we see her return to mass again. But then we get a startling peek inside her confession, where she says she is responsible for her parents’ deaths. Since we're pretty sure that she was six when her parents died, unless her name was Rosemary’s Baby, we aren’t quite sure where the writers are going with this plot.

Then there's the juicy Rose plot. Rose is following Zach’s last girlfriend, and simultaneously being followed by a creepy stalker lady. Apparently, also-not-a-virgin Zach was in love with his ex, and Rose wanted to see what type of lady she was. Zach, whose portrayal by David Franco is always oh-so creepy, finds this adorable. Anyway, Rose's stalker finally confronts her near the end of the episode and starts asking Rose whether or not she recently met a man named Miles. Sweet, carefree Rose offers up this info without any hesitation. The woman in turn offers up her own 411 – she is Miles’ daughter and, by the way, you’re his granddaughter.

Cue the Law & Order music! We can’t wait to find out what happens when Rose tells Laurel what she knows. Is Rose mad about it? Can she or will she keep from Sage? Will she flip out at Megan for not telling her? And why is Rose getting a plane next week? Where is she going, and why is Sage so upset about it? Our theory is she is sneaking off on the family jet to confront Miles. What’s yours?

MEGAN YOU SUCK. You're really stupid. You dont know what you have with Will. He's great. He should leave you so you get a wake up call. You disappoint me. Get off your stupid high horse. You and Charlie deserve each other.
