Sniff! Summer's officially over -- the leaves are changing, school's back in session, and we can't wear white anymore without offending our elders. And with summer's close comes the official end of Sourcie season. But fear not. We have one last awesome wrap-up before we officially close the door on this summer's Sourcies. First -- the winner of last week's matchup!

It's no surprise which show won last week's Best Brother-to-Brother Argument. Over 25,000 of you voted, and once again, Supernatural handily defeated One Tree Hill with over ninety percent of the vote. Wow! It wasn't even close.

Check out Jason C.'s recap of who won what, including the show that took home the most awards by far (if you've been paying attention, you already know!). You won't want to miss this -- especially if you're a Supernatural fan. Jason C. made a very special Sourcie award presentation to none other than Jared Padalecki!

A punch is worth a thousand words, we say! Check out this week's Sourcies category: Best Right Hook. On OTH, Peyton takes out her anger about Brooke's sex tape the old-fashioned way. Then on Gilmore Girls, Luke doesn't even give Christopher a chance to explain before he busts out with a major punch. And on Supernatural, Dean silences Sam's protests with a well-timed right hook to the jaw.

Finally, the interview we've been waiting for: Alexis Bledel talked to TV Guide about leaving Rory behind and her new movie. While Alexis isn't as candid as costar Lauren Graham about the details of why Gilmore ended, she still seems happy with the conclusion and what Rory's up to now.

Some highlights:

On why it was important to her that Rory ended up single: "I felt pretty strongly that I wanted my character to finish up somewhere that we would have liked to see her finish when the whole story started, because she was so driven and academic and I wanted to return to that in some ways."

On ending the show now instead of later: "For it to end this way felt good to me, because I think we would have been trying to come up with things if we had done more [episodes]."

So we were just chilling, kicking back, checking out the new Fergie video for "Big Girls Don't Cry" (first Fergie single in awhile with no spelling of the title track in the lyrics!) when we took a closer look at the hot tattooed bad boy that Fergie's aching for.

Gasp! It's Milo Ventimiglia, aka Jess, of Gilmore Girls (and now Heroes and hot music video) fame. For those of you still pining over his departure from the show, it's pretty cool... but for those of us who still picture him with Alexis Bledel -- yes, we know they broke up ages ago -- it's a bit jarring to see him canoodling with blond bombshell Fergie. We've been mourning the loss of our gals, Lorelai and Rory, since we heard the sudden, sad news about their departures a few weeks ago. But just as we were starting to get used to the idea of no more Gilmore, Amy Sherman-Palladino now throws us a curveball.

TVGuide.com's Michael Ausiello reports that the creator and longtime executive producer of Gilmore Girls would love to bring back her baby in the form of a TV movie. A reunion, of sorts. "In the next year or two, she hopes to make - wait for it - a two-hour Gilmore Girls TV movie that ties up all those loose threads," Mike relays.

Interestingly enough, this was news to the Gilmore cast as well. Scott Patterson, Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham all expressed interest. " 'I would do it just to get the four final words out of Amy. They torture me,' " Graham e-mailed to Ausiello.

Frankly, we'd love to see the ending AS-P had in mind all along. What about you? Would you tune back in a few years to see how your favorite Stars Hollow lasses are doing? What do you think they will up to then?

Earlier this week, one of our favorite media blogs, Gawker, implied The New York Times Gilmore farewell was a bit over-the-top. Hey! There's no such thing -- not when we're still coming to terms with the loss of our Gilmores. Sniff.

But we forgive them, because their celebrity-watching Gawker Stalker recently reported a Lauren Graham spotting in NYC (at Broadway and Bleeker Street, Manhattanites -- anyone see her?)! Awesome! How great would it be to run into Lauren on the street? Well, she might not think it's great, because we'd probably call her Lorelai and beg her for one last caffeine-infused pop culture diatribe and ask her how Luke's doing. Sigh. We're going through withdrawal already...

So, what did you think of the Gilmore finale? Was it what you were expecting? We liked it, but we wanted more. One hour just wasn't enough to say farewell to all the characters and pack in all the scenes we wanted. And while it was great to see Lane, Michel, Kirk, Sookie, and the rest of the Stars Hollow regulars, it felt kind of off to have a series finale without Paris (sob! we can never get enough Paris) or Logan (or Dean, or Jess, depending on your favorite Rory paramour).

The big question... did you cry? Um, we definitely did... how could we keep a dry eye with all the goodbyes? The tears started when Lorelai tried to keep busy, they really flowed when Richard told Lorelai she was a remarkable woman, and then, when Rory praised Lorelai on the podium at her party: "My mom is everything to me... and everything I am," well, we just lost it. Lorelai has done SO much to be the mom Rory needs, and to hear Rory publicly acknowledge it in front of the entire town must have been the ultimate reward.

What did you think of the final moments before Rory left? There was Lorelai, babbling on as only she can, about what Rory might need for her trip, and Rory cutting through the chatter: "Mom, you've already given me everything I need." Just one sentence, but it rang so true. Lorelai really has given Rory everything she needs to make it on her own.

Did you like the way the series ended with Rory and Lorelai talking over coffee at Luke's? There was something comforting about seeing them bantering just like any other day with Luke behind the counter brewing coffee and prepping a greasy diner breakfast. Yes, we know lots of fans wanted a major event (a Rory/Logan or Luke/Lorelai wedding) to send off the girls in style, but this scene was so classically Gilmore, it seemed more appropriate. Simple, yes, but moving.

We can't forget the Luke/Lorelai kiss (we've only been waiting ALL season), but it was almost an afterthought in a townie-packed episode. We did like how the door for Luke and Lorelai was left wide open. Finally, Luke's learned to express himself to Lorelai! And finally, after a very ill-advised marriage and subsequent singledom, she's in the right place in her life, ready to have him. Even though we won't see it on our TV screens, we like imagining those two sharing many more mornings together in Stars Hollow.

So in a nutshell -- we wanted more, but we'll take what we got. And we'll be rewatching it again shortly, tissues in hand. Season 7 had its ups and downs, but at least we got a sendoff worthy of this witty, lovable drama. Gilmore Girls, we'll miss you, but you went out in style.

The CW released a video preview of the Gilmore series (sob) finale! Check out the cute director's cut clip -- Rory obsesses over resumes, Lorelai says she and Luke are better off as friends (WHAT?!), and Lorelai spills details about Rory's (second) graduation party. It's adorable... and makes us even sadder that this is one the last mother/daughter scenes left. Tell us what you think!

KTLA fans, you've been heard. We just received word that KTLA will rebroadcast last night's episodes of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars this Saturday, May 12. For those that didn't hear, KTLA interrupted the episodes with live coverage of a major Los Angeles fire.

Here's the schedule:

Saturday, May 12
8 PM: Gilmore Girls
9 PM: Veronica Mars

We're relieved -- we wouldn't want you to have to wait until after the Gilmore finale to see Rory's graduation! Now you'll have your chance on Saturday. Get more info from KTLA!

The question is: where was all of this good drama in the first half of Season 7?

We think the blame lies in couple of factors. This is kind of the way some seasons have gone: slow start, big finish. Another problem was the new writers trying to get the tone of the show while mopping up the big mess Amy Sherman-Palladino left. Ok, so we've come to appreciate April -- it showed us the fatherly side of Luke. But the whole Christopher debacle really took the show down a bumpy road.

Kudos to the writers for bringing the show back to its roots, but that makes it all the more depressing. Only one show left. What a waste. We'd love to trade the first half of Season 7, almost all of Season 4 and some of Season 6, just to have a little more time in Stars Hollow. After the past few great episodes, we feel like there's so much untapped potential for lots more Gilmore greatness that we'll never get to see.

TV Guide's Ausiello got the scoop from Lauren Graham herself about the Gilmore finale and why there won't be another season. As usual, LG is candid and honest, and we appreciated hearing her take on this, but it doesn't ease the pain of knowing that one of our favorite shows is on its way out.

But enough doom and gloom. We always try to find something positive in bad news. So how about this? We liked hearing that Lauren requested some changes to the finale -- changes that sound like good ones to us: "I thought this should be an opportunity to say good-bye, or at least have some sort of acknowledgement of all these characters... I felt it was important to go a little deeper."

We just heard from The CW that Gilmore Girls will air its SERIES finale on Tuesday, May 15.

Yes, it's true. We're still in shock! And we wish we had better news for you. We know how much you adored the Gilmores and how much you wanted another season. We were really hoping for more Gilmore -- even the 13-episode season that we heard rumors about, but it looks like we only get two more new Gilmore episodes and that's it.

Below, the statement from The CW and Warner Bros. Television regarding Gilmore Girls:

"Announcing the final season of 'Gilmore Girls' is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television. This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters. We thank Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Dave Rosenthal, the amazing cast led by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as well as the producers, writers and crew for giving us this delightful gem for the past seven years. We would also like to thank the critics and 'Gilmore' fans for their passionate support and promise to give this series the send off it deserves."

Gilmore Girls, you will be missed.

So it was (partially) given away in the promos, yes. But were any of you still a little surprised to see Logan ask Lorelai's permission to marry Rory during the final seconds of last night's Gilmore Girls? We still can't quite believe it. Commitment-phobe Logan? About to pop the question? And not only is he about to get down on one knee, but he even went to Lorelai before asking Rory. What do you think of Logan's decision to ask Lorelai first -- sweet or old-fashioned?

Now that Logan's got marriage on his mind, we wonder what Rory will say! With no solid future plans, she's just trying to find some solid ground to stand on. Will marrying Logan be the answer? On one hand, we think Rory does genuinely love Logan and wants a future with him. But she's so unsure about where her life is headed, and she might not be ready for that kind of commitment just yet. Can't wait to see how she responds to Logan's proposal next week.

Logan and Rory aren't the only relationship on this show with a questionable future. Lorelai wore her heart on her sleeve with an emotional karaoke performance of "I Will Always Love You" that started out silly but then turned soft -- it was clearly meant for late-arriver Luke, who showed up mid-song and appeared touched by Lorelai's warbling.

But those two didn't get a whole lot of airtime together this week (darn!). The episode was pretty Rory-centric. Rory having weird nightmares about her mom jetting off to Hawaii! Rory finding out the Chicago Sun-Times isn't hiring! Rory trying to backtrack and get that job she turned down in Providence! Fortunately, Lorelai cheered her up with some junk food and shopping, but Rory's future plans are still a blank slate. What do you think Rory will end up doing after graduation?

Tell us what you think of Lorelai's tipsy tune, Logan's episode-ending proposal, and Rory's future! Oh, and what about Lorelai's reaction after Logan asked permission? Talk about hard to read. Was she sad because she doesn't approve, happy/sad because she wants what's best for Rory but doesn't want her to move cross-country, or something else entirely?

Last night's episode really felt like old Gilmore Girls, in the best possible way (although we're missing Emily and Richard. Please, bring them back next week!). Lorelai back at Luke's diner! A cute subplot for Sookie and Jackson! Rory and Paris interaction (and subsequent Paris craziness)! We loved it. Missed any of it, or just want to relive some of the best moments? Read our full recap.

Paris got accepted to EVERY SINGLE law and med school she applied to. Wow. Makes up for her undergrad rejections, don'tcha think? Paris is quite impressive. However, she managed to (as only Paris can) turn her many acceptances into a problem, temporarily breaking up with Doyle and stressing about where to go next. Fortunately, Doyle would have none of her neuroses, and he insisted that wherever she went, he'd be right be her side. Aw, Doyle! Are you a fan of those two together, or would you have preferred that they go their separate ways?

Meanwhile, Lorelai finally showed her face at Luke's dinner for the most awkward cup of coffee ever observed. Things became way more normal when they went car shopping together later, though. It was like old times! Crazy Lorelai and sane Luke bantering and bickering... if only we could've had this all season (yes, after watching them together again, we are once again turning into very biased fans of this couple).

The lighthearted episode ended on a decidedly somber note when Rory finally received a letter from the Times about her fellowship... a rejection letter. Poor Rory! It's so hard when everyone else seems to have a plan and you don't. And this is one of the few times in her life Rory's been rejected. At least she didn't steal a boat this time (yet)... Were you surprised that she didn't get the fellowship?

What'd you think of the episode? What do you think Rory should do next? Should Logan and Doyle be big factors in the girls' future plans? The promos made it look like Logan makes up for his absence this week in a big way next week...
