ENJOY THE SUNSHINE...A SNOWY MESSY COMING!
Patchy dense fog will greet some of you out the door this morning...especially outside of 465! Expect to see the fog lift quickly after sunrise (7:32am). This will give way to a good dose of sunshine and milder temperatures...overall this day looks great by mid-February standards, with highs in the upper 30s!
Light snow and snow showers are expected for Saturday with little to no accumulation. This should not a be a big deal and roads should be fine with an occasional slick spot and moisture lacking. As the second storm deepens on Sunday, we could be dealing with rain and snow mix from Sunday through Tuesday morning. This is a developing storm that has the potential to dump heavy snows in parts of the state. It appears that conditions will be going down hill by Monday morning through Tuesday morning...Look for updates throughout the weekend!
WEEKEND SNOW AND RAIN?
WELCOMED SUN THURSDAY WILL BE BRIEF
A MILDER TREND...SNOW FOR THE WEEKEND!?!
Cloudy skies this morning will do two things for us today: 1) insulate temperatures this morning, allowing for a milder start 2) move out and make way for a very nice, brighter afternoon! It's a win, win! Overall, a pretty good looking next two days here in the city! the only "fly in the ointment" could be some freezing fog late tonight and into Friday morning...
Snow is expected for Saturday! This should not be a huge deal with moisture lacking...as of now, around an 1" to 1.5" expected! We do have a better chance of snow by Sunday night...More on that in the coming days!
A LULL BUT NEW SNOWS ON THE HORIZON
A QUIET STRETCH OF WEATHER WILL FINISH OFF THE WORK WEEK BUT SNOW MAY MAKE ITS RETURN THIS WEEKEND - BIGGER STORM POTENTIAL MONDAY
Continue reading A LULL BUT NEW SNOWS ON THE HORIZON »SOME SUN AND A TIME TO RELAX...
A quiet weather pattern shaping up for the next few days...time to breath and enjoy some sun with snowmelt! Winds not as gusty today as a return to sunshine is expected. Look for highs today near 30-degrees (average high: 40). More sun and dry weather for Thursday and Friday too. Snowmelt will ensue and roads will continue to improve!
This weekend some light snow is possible on Saturday...too early to be overly concerned but something to check in with by tomorrow for any changes. A better chance of snow and heavier totals coming on Monday...Look for updates!

2 to 6 inches in the downtown Indy and northeast of the city
5 to 10 inches east, south, and southeast of the city

DRY WEEKEND - SNOW POSSIBLE SOUTH SUNDAY NIGHT
COLD OPEN TO THE WEEKEND - SNOW SOUTH SUNDAY
A POTPOURRI OF WEATHER...WHERE TO BEGIN!?!
First off...bitterly cold this morning with temperatures holding in the lower single-digits (wind chills are sub-zero)...On top of the arctic air is a thin layer of fog forming...fog is thick enough to create some black ice outside of I-465 through sunrise. This will only be patchy in spots, not a major issue for everyone!
Look for some sunshine early today with clouds increasing throughout afternoon...Clouds tonight could bring light snow in spots and scattered flurries. Snow should be light with only a dusting possible. More snow chances coming for Sunday morning through Monday night. It appears the first part of this storm on Sunday will mostly miss Indy and push through the southern part of the state. Better chances of snow showers will arrive on Monday along brisk northwest winds! We'll update through the weekend!
COLD HERE - DEEP SOUTH PREPS FOR SNOW
A CLEAR SKY AND FRESH SNOW ALWAYS ADD UP TO A COLD NIGHT BUT CLOUDS COULD KEEP TEMPS FROM TANKING. FLORIDA SNOW POSSIBLE
Continue reading COLD HERE - DEEP SOUTH PREPS FOR SNOW »SNOW TAKES A BREAK...MORE FOR THE WEEKEND?
We're breathing a sigh of relief as the snow, wind, and clouds take a break for today! Clouds this morning should begin to break bringing a return to some sunshine throughout the afternoon. Winds that gusted at 40mph in the city yesterday will be a distant memory today, winds are relaxing through Friday. In fact, quiet conditions are expected across the better part of the U.S., as the stormy, snowy pattern calms for a couple of days! The exception will be the deep south as snow is likely for Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabma through Saturday morning with accumulations of 2 to 5 inches...
Our next chance of snow will come Sunday (Valentine's Day) and on through Monday...For now it appears snow should be light in accumulations but it could create some slick roads for Monday morning's rush...Look for more updates in the coming days!
QUIET THURSDAY - 2 SYSTEMS THIS WEEKEND
PEAK WIND GUSTS AND OVERNIGHT SNOWFALL
GUSTY WINDS TO EASE LATER TONIGHT
WINDS GUSTING TO 30 MILES PER HOUR WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SUNSET TONIGHT. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW STILL A PROBLEM AWAY FROM THE CITY.

SNOW UPDATE @ 9:00AM
Snow taking a break in parts of the area...so far 2 to 5 inches in central Indiana! Expect an additional 1 to maybe 2 inches with higher totals south and east of the city...this should put our totals around 3 to 6 inches for today...could see an additional 1 to 3 inches tonight with extremely gusty winds...
