MONDAY EVENING WEATHER

After starting the day with clear skies and a lot of sunshine some clouds have made their way into Central Indiana this evening.  The good news is that the rain showers that were in the clouds earlier in the day have been falling apart and with the exception of a very brief shower most of us should stay dry this evening and overnight.

Storms Wreak Havoc On Southern Indiana...

Severe weather hits parts of the area this morning...Incredible rainfall totals are coming in from areas just south of Nashville, IN (Brown County).  Doppler radar estimates ranging from 2 to 4 inches within a 2 hour period.  Flash flooding could continue their until 9:15am this morning. HEAVIEST RAIN & SEVERE WEATHER IS OVER

90's MAKE A RETURN VISIT TO CENTRAL INDIANA

You have to all the way back to June 26 to find our last 90º day here in Central Indiana.  That's right!!!!  We went the whole month of July without seeing one.  That has only been done nine other times in Indianapolis history.  Some people have liked the cooler weather this summer but for those who like the hot & humid air this weekend is for you.

FEW SHOWERS TO MOVE THROUGH TONIGHT

A warm front continues to lift north through Central Indiana this evening and along that front there are a few showers and storms.  Now the good news is that the rain is running into a lot of dry air so precipitation is drying up just a little bit.  What that means for us is the there will be a few showers moving through this evening but for the most part they should be on the light side and nothing will be severe.

FEW STORMS MOVING THROUGH...LESS HUMID AIR HEADS OUR WAY

Again today we were in a very warm and muggy airmass with tempreatures climbing into the upper 80's.  A cold front is just to the west of the area slowly making its way to the east.  Out ahead of the front we have fired up a few thunderstorms across the area.

A line of severe thunderstorms raced across central Illinois late Wednesday afternoon prompting a tornado watch for all of central Indiana.  While a few funnel clouds were reported along with a handful of strong wind gusts,  the severe storms weekend as they reached the city.
