MORE HEAT EQUALS MORE STORMS!

After starting the day with clear skies and a lot of sunshine some clouds have made their way into Central Indiana this evening.  The good news is that the rain showers that were in the clouds earlier in the day have been falling apart and with the exception of a very brief shower most of us should stay dry this evening and overnight. 

You have to all the way back to June 26 to find our last 90º day here in Central Indiana.  That's right!!!!  We went the whole month of July without seeing one.  That has only been done nine other times in Indianapolis history.  Some people have liked the cooler weather this summer but for those who like the hot & humid air this weekend is for you. 

A warm front continues to lift north through Central Indiana this evening and along that front there are a few showers and storms.  Now the good news is that the rain is running into a lot of dry air so precipitation is drying up just a little bit.  What that means for us is the there will be a few showers moving through this evening but for the most part they should be on the light side and nothing will be severe. 

Again today we were in a very warm and muggy airmass with tempreatures climbing into the upper 80's.  A cold front is just to the west of the area slowly making its way to the east.  Out ahead of the front we have fired up a few thunderstorms across the area. 

Mostly cloudy to hazy skies this morning with no rain around the state...Morning temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to lower 70s, so no jacket needed for the kids going back to school for today!

Northeast winds provide a break from the heat and humidity through Thursday.  A light wind regime will allow surface air pollution to climb in the coming days.  Temperatures will heat up by the weekend with rising humidity.

Some patchy fog out the door, some dense in spots but no advisory expected!  Sun blast continues for today, as the fog lifts, with highs in the middle 80s and humidity remaining quite comfortable. 

Afternoon temperatures on Saturday peaked in the upper 80s, on breezy south winds.  Expect more of the same on Sunday under hazy sunshine.  There will be a small shower chance on Sunday, as heat and humidity continue to moisten up the atmosphere.

Isolated storms continue this morning across the northern part of the state...Most of the local area this morning should stay dry with rain and storms chances increasing through the day!  Still a very warm and muggy day expected with highs near 90.
