COLD NIGHT COMING - A WARM UP IN SIGHT
Midway through November and we have yet to have a hard freeze officially in Indianapolis. Many viewers have written and noted blooms still on some rose bushes and in general many plants still hanging on. The official number of freezing night's so far this season is only two - last year to date we were at five. We may dip close to the freezing mark Thursday morning here in the city with outlying areas being colder but a warm up gets underway Thursday afternoon.
Sunny skies will mix with thin high clouds Thursday while temperatures rebound into the upper 50's. A stronger southwest wind will develop Friday helping the temperatures to return into the middle 60's ahead of an approaching front. This front offers the chance for rain as we get into the weekend.
A few showers are possible Saturday but a more steady rain will develop through the day on Sunday. A transition to colder and wetter weather will occur by Monday. Current forecast data shows a chilly rain falling here Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures may only hold steady in the middle 40's with just a slight chance of a few wet snow flakes mixing in. We will be updating the Long Range forecast tonight at 10.
