A LULL BUT NEW SNOWS ON THE HORIZON

A QUIET STRETCH OF WEATHER WILL FINISH OFF THE WORK WEEK BUT SNOW MAY MAKE ITS RETURN THIS WEEKEND - BIGGER STORM POTENTIAL MONDAY

The pattern will remain on the cool side - Thursday marks the 13th consecutive day below normal but sunshine will make it feel a whole lot better.  Clouds are expected to break for sun Thursday with temperatures pushing above the freezing mark - the first time since February 5th.  We have yet to reach the 40 degree mark this month - not since February 2007 has that occurred.  last year we had posted five days above the 50 degree mark by the 18th.

Sun will start to fade Friday afternoon as a storm system swings out of the Southern Plains.  This system will bring snow into Indiana Saturday morning.  Some accumulation is possible but the system is forecast to shear or weaken as it makes its trek across southern Kentucky.  Early snowfall predictions suggest an inch or two possible and will be monitored.

LONG RANGE STORM - CONFIDENCE IS HIGH

It's rare that long range models all agree on a storm track - almost too good to be true but late Wednesday night a plot of 5 different computer generated storm tracks lead to high confidence in a strong early week storm system.  The track as seen below is favorable for heavy snow across portions of Missouri - Illinois and Indiana.  There is timing differences to be resolved and how much moisture will be available.  This storm forecast will be firmed up in the coming days.
