WEEKEND SNOW AND RAIN?

WE CONTINUE TO TRACK TWO SYSTEMS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEKEND.  CLOUDS ARRIVE FRIDAY AHEAD OF THE FIRST SYSTEM.  STORM NUMBER 2 STILL COMPLEX

Clouds increase Friday with light snow breaking out across northern Missouri Friday afternoon.  Look for clouds to thicken and lower Friday night with the chance of snow returning late.  This system is forecast to lose some of its punch and spread light snow into the area.  Accumulating snow should be light with totals Saturday evening at or around one inch.

Storm number two - the stronger of the systems is still in its developmental stage.  Coming onshore Friday and tracking across the Rockies computer models are getting a better handle on the storm track - speed and strength.

The consensus track is still south of Indiana into northern Kentucky - favorable for healthy snow accumulation in central and north central Indiana.  New tonight one shorter range model the NAM has a track into central Missouri - that a warmer solution and brings rain or a mix of rain in as early as Sunday.

So as for now we resolve the long range forecast as a mix of light rain and snow developing Sunday with the main event or low arriving early Monday with the rain snow line into central southern Indiana.  Be sure to check back as the forecast firms up Friday afternoon.
