The wet snow continues to fall across central Indiana Friday afternoon. Officially the NWS in Indianapolis has reported one and a half inches of snow has fallen today. The big wet snow flakes are combining with gusty east winds to create dangerous travel conditions especially east of Indianapolis where numerous slide offs have been reported across Henry County.
Snow - will continue to fall heavy at times through the evening rush. Snow accumulation will continue especially later tonight as temperatures begin to fall below freezing. The above freezing temperatures have limited the snow accumulation thus far but snow totals will be significant by Saturday morning east and along the I - 70 corridor.
Snowfall of up to four inches is likely in the city by late Friday evening with the potential of additional snowfall overnight. Snow in excess of 6 inches is likely in areas just east of Indianapolis to the Indiana/Ohio state line.
