The National Weather Service is still surveying the damage, but preliminary thoughts indicate that two twisters touched down in Carroll County. One is Yeoman and another in eastern Carroll County.

The storm reports across the state Monday night were numerous with a possible tornado touching down in Benton Co. and moving southeast through Tippecanoe Co. Another possible tornado touched down last night near Spencer (7:45pm, 3 miles southwest) in Owen Co. Storm assessment teams will be out later to confirm any possible tornadoes from last night's storms.
Calmer conditions are expected for Wednesday as storms move east and drier conditions return.
Currently, most of Indiana is experiencing dry weather with overcast skies. We might see some sunshine if the clouds decide to break, which is likely. If we see the break in the clouds the best chance for storms occuring will happen during the late afternoon to evening. All of Indiana is under a slight risk for severe storms, which would include chances of strong wind gust, hail, down pours, and also some isolated tornadoes.
As of right now it is looking that southern Indiana is going to have the bigger chance of severe weather with the instability being the highest south of Bloomington. The high today will be around 88 degrees and the low tonight will be around 69 degrees.

The weather didn't disappoint for Father's Day today. Mainly sunny skies helped temperatures climb to the upper 80's, low 90's across the state. We stayed dry all day with the expectation of a few spotty showers and storms that developed in our southern communities. One storm gained enough strength in Jackson County near the Seymour area that a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued.
Pop-up storms are moving across parts of Indiana this morning...chances look good for this to continue from time to time this afternoon under some very hot temperatures. Afternoon readings should range between 90-95 with heat indices in the upper 90s, just in time for the first day of Summer. Dangerous heat will continue through Wednesday afternoon with some of the hottest air of the season expected! And storms chances will continue too...
Right now there are Flash Flooding Warnings in Grant, Howard, Delaware, Randolph, Tipton, and Madison County. There are reports of some areas seeing over 3.25 inches. The warnings will expire mid-afternoon. We also have some storms out to the West coming into central Indiana and these storms are associated with a lot of lightning. Rest of the day we should expect more thunderstorms, possibly some severe this afternoon. The high today in the city will be around 90 degrees and the low tonight around 74 degrees.
Additional flash flood warnings are now active across northern and central Indiana. Flood warnings now include Carroll, Clinton, Delaware, Howard, Madison, Hamilton, Henry, Tippecanoe, Randolph, and Tipton county. Areas in the northern counties have seen up to 5 inches and in Carroll county another thunderstorm has produced around 1 to 2 inches of rain. The warning will expire at 4:00 pm. Look for more flood warnings being issued throughout the day, as more storms move into the area from Illinois. Also still be aware of severe weather associated with these storms.

The heat index has topped the 100 degree mark in Indianapolis this afternoon. Oppressive levels of heat and humidity will continue this evening. Storms are expected later tonight as relief arrives with a cold front.
A line of thunderstorms will continue to drop south across central Indiana tonight. Winds to 70 miles per hour along with hail to 2 inches in diameter is possible.

With the passage of a cold front Thursday morning central Indiana takes a break from stifling humidity - hot temperatures and heavy thunderstorms. This weather pattern will be short lived.
A warm front will sweep the state early Saturday allowing hot air and tropical humidity to surge as the weekend opens. Thunderstorms will roam the state at times during the weekend.
Temperatures will feel every bit of "summer-like" today as they top out in the low 90's under partly cloudy skies. Dew point readings will be in the 70's and when you combine those together heat indices will be near 100 degrees!

This watch was issued in anticipation of developing storms that are headed our way for the end of the weekend. The storms tonight are loosing their punch and severe weather isn't expected. Scattered showers and storms developed this afternoon and strengthened into the early evening. Nearly all of Central Indiana went under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning at some point or another. A 58 mph wind gust was recorded in Marion County in the late evening hours. While the severe weather threat has diminished, the threat for heavy rain will persist overnight and become more widespread.
