SEVERE STORMS RETURN THIS EVENING

Currently, most of Indiana is experiencing dry weather with overcast skies. We might see some sunshine if the clouds decide to break, which is likely. If we see the break in the clouds the best chance for storms occuring will happen during the late afternoon to evening. All of Indiana is under a slight risk for severe storms, which would include chances of strong wind gust, hail, down pours, and also some isolated tornadoes.

As of right now it is looking that southern Indiana is going to have the bigger chance of severe weather with the instability being the highest south of Bloomington. The high today will be around 88 degrees and the low tonight will be around 69 degrees.

MORE SUN TODAY...HEAT BUILDS BACK IN!

A great start this morning under clear skies and cool, comfy temperatures!  You couldn't ask for a better way to start your Friday!  More sunshine expected today with lighter winds will make for a nice but warmer afternoon.  Afternoon highs should range between 81-86 degrees across the area by 5:00pm.  The heat will build on Saturday and could help to spark a few evening storms. More storm chances will continue for Sunday but expect lots of dry weather for both days before another more significant cool-down!

STORMS WILL WEAKEN...TEMPS WILL COOL!

Storms this morning (mostly north of Indy) continue their track east into Ohio.  These storms are producing heavy rain, some lightning and gusty winds.  Look for the storms to be ending by mid-morning with some sunshine by this afternoon and breezy west winds!  Another cold front drops south tonight into tomorrow bringing even cooler conditions...summer weather takes a break over the next couple of days!  Enjoy the lower humidity and cooler temperatures!

SUNSHINE NOW BUILDING IN...HUMIDITY DROPPING!

Rain and storms have ended across the area...sunshine building in now and winds will be increasing from the west!  This combination should dry out the atmosphere, driving dewpoints downward making it feel more comfortable as highs warm into the middle 80s.  An additional cold front will drop through tonight making for a cooler situation for tomorrow...this afternoon will mark the beginning of a very long dry stretch of weather through the holiday weekend!  Enjoy!  See you back tomorrow!

HIGH PRESSURE AND HURRICANES!

Building high pressure keeps us severe clear (no thunderstorms) under sunny skies!  It will be another beautiful day with highs in the upper 70s and winds not as breezy as yesterday (today's winds: NE 5-10mph).  Look for this quiet trend to continue with much warmer temperatures by the holiday weekend!

Hurricane Alex will make landfall Thursday morning south of Brownsville, TX./ Northern Mexico.  This storm will bring heavy storm surge, flooding rains and wind damage likely!  Another possible storm brewing in the Atlantic will be something to watch near Florida by early next week!
