Evacuations Due to Earl

North Carolina just issued evacuations for their barrier islands ahead of major Hurricane Earl.  For us here in Indiana we get to sit back and watch, but don't forget to say a prayer tonight for those who are in harms way.

North Carolina just issued evacuations for their barrier islands ahead of major Hurricane Earl.  For us here in Indiana we get to sit back and watch, but don't forget to say a prayer tonight for those who are in harms way.  For those of you who may be curious about current conditions with regards to Earl you can click on this Buoy station link that takes you to the output page for one of the Buoys directly in the path of Earl.

Puerto Rico saw about 4-6 inches of widespread rain over the past 36 hours and tonight the Turk islands are seeing 15-20 foot waves battering their shoreline.  Intensity for Earl is expected to remain in the major category through Friday before quickly losing strength in the colder New England waters.
