HOT & HUMID TODAY - RAIN THREAT INCREASES

Temperatures topped out in the 90's to start the weekend and we'll end the weekend in the same sultry fashion. Highs today will reach the low to mid 90's across the state, with slightly hotter temperatures South of I-70.

Plenty of sunshine will rule the roost today but I am tracking the possibility for a few pop up showers and storms.  An area of low pressure in the southern states will pump in cloud cover and the threat for isolated showers later this afternoon and overnight. The threat for rain and heavier cloud cover will stay confined to Southern Indiana as lows tonight dip into the upper 60's and low 70's overnight.

So far, the month of August is the driest on record and with the expected surge of heat, will likely go down in the record books as the hottest August too. We can expect more 90 degree days in the 7 day forecast and with that a better chance for showers and storms.

Have a great day!
