On Track For Top 5 Hottest August
It hasn't been just dry but also hot this month!
With dry conditions sticking around for the month it is easy to forget that we are also in the running to go down as one of the hottest months ever as well. While it would take a lot for us to topple 1936 as the warmest August ever, Indy could see a top 5 finish. The warmest Augusts on record are as follows.
1936 80.5
1983 80.1
2007 80.0
1995 79.6
1900 79.4
Currently the average for this month is 79.3. With temps expected into the 90s for the rest of the month I think we will finish fourth all time for warmest August.
